CASE COMPLAINT
Pisha Waters decided to settle her claim against a business partner since she says it's his fault "their business" went belly up.
Pieces: You were following along with your partners plan for the business and now you're paying the price.
Pisha: He never told me about his other failed ventures.
Pieces: Well before you became partners didn't you discuss his other businesses?
Pisha: He told me the one we had was for real!
Pieces: So you went into business with a person who ran bogus or operated a business as a front?
Pisha: Well that's what he turned out to be, just a person who was frontin!
Pieces: According to my documents, you are no longer in business together ; so what else can I do as this is civil procedure?
Pisha: Look at the responsibility he's left me to handle.
Pieces: You may have to file for bankruptcy, I cannot apologize for your negligence.
Pisha: Bankruptcy, ok cool, if he do that they he ain't obligated to pay child support cause now the court gon know he ain't got no money.
Pieces: Child support!
Pisha: Yes, This man left me now that I am several months pregnant!
The man in question enters the courtroom.
Man: They call me Do-tell and this woman says I am the father.
Pieces: If you were seeing this woman, why are you in doubt- and please do tell?
Do-tell: Well, she was separated from her husband and was also separated from me at the time she says I got her pregnant.
Pieces: Well Pisha who were you together with to have this occur?
Pisha: He is the father, all he gotta do is sign the papers!
Pieces: Then why wont he own up to it?
Pisha: Cause he married too.
Pieces: So you two trifling folk probably deserve each other. So what is the argument about? Either each of you leave your spouses for good to raise this child or Do-tell will have to take a paternity test to prove if he is the father and if so then he will be responsible for child support and will have the right for visitation. That's all I can do and with that I will return with a decision.
ANALYSIS
Pisha is expecting, but was not with either mate during the time she became pregnant. Do-tell, the man Pisha says is the father offered to adopt the unborn child when he found out Pisha was expecting when they resumed their relationship. Do-tell's wife has learned of this affair and subsequent child outside of his marriage which is the reason Do-tell is now refusing to adopt Pisha's unborn child.
Pieces: I cannot force you into adoption of this woman's unborn baby. Once you have taken a paternity test and if proven you are the father, as I stated earlier you will be responsible somewhat financially and would be allowed visitation.
Pisha: That's all you gon do?
Pieces: Don't blow off at me because your hump went foul! Such as I cannot order you to return to your husband, although it may not be a bad idea so that you can have a stable home to provide for your children. It is unfair to place the burden of adoption and support on another person unwillingly if they are not the father.
IT IS THEREFORE ORDERED, Pisha's boyfriend Do-tell take a paternity test. If he is not the father he does not have to adopt Pishs's child if he chooses not to.
