I had my list out.
Although it was brief shopping- it was planned no doubt.
When I got to the store,
I looked all over as none of the items interested me.
The makers and brands lacked style as this was starting to take a while.

I had my list out.
Just a few things of course- The salesman had a pitch.
As he asked about singing and did I remember Sam Cooke?
I said yes, as to not be rude, but the store had sold out,
supposedly of what I had asked for as his job seemed
like a chore.

I had my list out, again and again as I looked all over.
Was this a silent boycott or something?
Should I have just walked in and bought what I did
not like or really want?
It seemed as though, it were a hint, I wasn't being too picky or choosy.
If that were the case, everybody had the same idea and people don't like to spend money
on what they do not like.

As with products and selections, if you cant be with the one you love
you have to love the one you with. Which is not a Sam Cooke song.
The other choices had no appeal as I ended up at another store to seal the deal.
