Carnitine

Posted by Sheri Harris on Thursday, April 12, 2012, In : Commentary
Metabolic disorders occur when the body is unable to process fats known as lipids, proteins, sugars or nucleic acid properly.  This occurs when the bodies genetic mutations result in missing or dysfunctional enzymes thus making cells difficult to perform metabolic process.  When an enzyme is dysfunctional it is unable to breakdown fatty substances in the body.  The excess buildup of fat that surrounds the brain will cause brain damage. This is because the carnitines are responsible for the re...

The Immune System and Dendritic Cells

Posted by Sheri Harris on Thursday, March 8, 2012, In : Commentary
The immune system consists of organs and cells within the human body. The bone marrow produces  B cells, granulocytes, immature thymocytes, natural killer cells and red blood cells and platelets. It is the process of hematopoiesis that bone marrow stem cells either become mature cells within the immune system or develop into maturation outside of the immune system. For example immature thymocytes migrate into the thymus and produce mature T cells. The spleen creates a immunologic filter for t...

Posted by Sheri Harris on Friday, February 10, 2012, In : Commentary
Each year our health insurance premiums go up. The increases can be from $300 to $500 or even more depending on what type of health insurance you have.  Unfortunately, the supposedly new insurance exchange programs will not take place until 2014, so 2013 will not be the year to take a vacation. It can be ok to stay home as long as you don't move or go anywhere.

In scenario of explanation is that 2013 can be a golden year for hospitals and insurance companies to charge huge fees in excess in pr...

Calcifications

Posted by Sheri Harris on Thursday, January 12, 2012, In : Commentary
What are Calcifications?

Calcifications are most notably deposots of calcium that are found in the breast during a mammogram.  We may ask why don't calcifications develop elsewhere and not be seen as "something to monitor" or have another follow up screening in a few months? Macrocalcifications are not considered to be dangerous or harmful because they are as a result of inflamation from age ect. Microcalcifications are associated with malignancy, since the cells in the body begin to divide ra...

Have you ever had a room or several rooms that need to be repaired but you are unable to afford the cost of it to be done?  There are many programs on the tele that are dedicated to this subject.  This of course enables lowly paid contractors to fix a mug for the camera while they fix odds and ends around a persons home so that it looks like a place someone can admit to residing.  These kinds of jobs are considered manual labor in that the use of physical strength and endurance is required be...

Up and Away!

Posted by Sheri Harris on Thursday, October 27, 2011, In : Commentary
We may ask ourselves, what stays in the air forever?  The clouds, sun, moon and the stars. Although, the sky is really just an opening at the top of the earths atmosphere. It's opening allows things to travel through it like birds, rain, airplanes, helicopters and people.  In many instances people are not associated with sky dwelling. As a result, such dangers that exist within the sky are not taken too serious regarding human occupants.

Generic Cars

Houses do not have brand names associated with them. People go and pick out a home based on size, location and the cost. A home must be in excellent condition and able to be without significant damage so that the owner does not have to spend lots of money on repairs and other things that homes are often in neglected of having.  When one looks at a home they may often see plain sturdy wood or brick. But where is the name brand on that home?  It is not placed on the closet door or on the front ...

When people think of intellectual property, they may think of trademarks, copyrights and patents. These works of art have our name or company, one may represent that is attached to such creation. When we analyze such property we see it has a creation of work along with a price or value in money assigned to it. These works may also be considered priceless because they are made or invented as a one of a kind work or art.  The thing that makes it intellectual is the fact that the author, creator...

When we speak of the human race or America citizens do we speak of a melting pot of adopted nations, creeds and origins that have come together in the interest of life and opportunity or do we see each other as rivals out to control a land and rule upon it?  How do we cultivate a land that can continue to grow despite the greed of those who control it? Is it necessary to continue doing so if the excess of profit or crop continuously goes in to the benefits package of a few and not the many mi...
