I know, I know software can be challenging.  It's sort of like reading a manual and then trying to figure out what goes where and how to use something that you bought.  Since computers make it easier and faster to communicate with many people software is designed to make a computer functional in that aspect.  The problem with many software programs is that there is a lot of information within each section or "chapter" of the software that sometimes is not easily noticed when attempting to use it.  Software designers have begun to create software that is "roomier". So that a person is able to view the different applications and functions within an existing software program and be able to select and use it without being confused by the tiny or jumbled pieces of information that are displayed within a limited amount of space. We may not want to be patronized by designed "kiddie or child software" for adults who walk in to so called sophisticated situations or job titles of importance but yet are unable to grasp the understanding of how a piece of software works.  Once this occurs you now have people who show up for work but leave and never return in the middle of a project because the job in using the software was somewhat overwhelming.  This now means that it's up to other folks to now be able to understand the same software and do the work, including their own that was left by the person who couldn't understand software "not created" for the lay person.

This is similar to having a person who comes to remodel your bathroom or kitchen.  They come off like a knight in shining armor "yeah I can do this for a lot less that what another company was going to charge". Of course you agree, because you can use the money saved  or "not spent" on this for traveling.  This knight in shining armor has many exceptions as to why he cannot work on your home as you request, as within a week or so. These exceptions include: I am working on ten other jobs, the work you asked me to do is quite complicated so it's going to take me longer so I need more time to figure everything out. You begin to notice, after some time has passed, that there are many brands of syrup that move faster than this person.  Several meetings were rescheduled because he was dealing with other personal issues. At last he contacts you but of course to tell you that he can begin the job but cannot work on it completely or all at once because he will be away for the entire summer. Who wants a home with a porta potty and a kitchen without water that works?  Because this is what you end up with after you allow this person to enter your home and demolish your bathroom or kitchen so that it resembles the house you were born in during the early part of the last century. This person is no home decorator, just a travel agent on the down and dirty!  Why does it end up like this?  Because you cannot contact this person because he is away and does not answer his cell phone.  After several months of outback living and neighbors wondering if you have most of your ability to think and reason, if not then you could be able to qualify for a long term care facility and retire from that high paying job you have because people are probably curious as to how you lucked upon such employment given the skills you have to let your home go to pot.  So you cite elder abuse towards the person you allowed to mess up your home. While talking to someone who also had their home remodeled you mention the persons name who abandoned the job in your home by not showing up to make the repairs because now summer and fall have passed and winter has been underway for a while. This person informs you that they know who you are talking about and decided not to hire them for the job because they heard from somebody else that this person was getting married over the summer and was moving out of state.  Which explains why you never heard back or got the supplies you gave the money to that person to in order to buy the supplies with.  It may be best if you hire an established business who is willing and able to commute daily to remodel your home, no matter how difficult and complete the job instead. Because it's obvious that this person is not going to do it.  Which brings me to this weeks topic:

How do we combat difficulty in using EMR software?

With the use of speaking software for EMR. How does this work? By using a wireless headset with microphone; no, you don't have to sing anything or give a demonstration speech. Once you set up your speaking software and access it by turning it on within your EMR software you are ready to go.  In using your headset with microphone a physician or medical worker can then access the prompts, sections or "chapters" if you will, of the emr software you need to use. When you send a command such as go to notes, or go to patient, the chart or software section is automatically accessed. With speaking software you can even activate a patients chart by saying or spelling the name, the birthdate, phone number or address ect..  This makes it easier for physicians or those who find it difficult to use a computer with so much information displayed on the screen, because now a physician can access what they want directly by just saying what you want the speaking software provides it. And the physician can then go about their business of creating notes and charts of their patients thus keeping up to date with requirements and reimbursements. Imaging by just saying a patients name you can access their chart and by saying medications you can access their prescriptions and by saying script, and saying the medication, dosage ect and "save" you can create prescription scripts without any problems and print them as well. A physician can speak his or her office notes and they will be entered, saved and printed for hard copies if necessary. The speaking emr software takes the worry out of using an emr that is complex.  With speaking EMR software you tell the software what to do instead of it telling you.  Save time and aggravation. Keep your hide in business or as they say, in check!, afterall your patients count on you-don't they?
