The Elderly and Assistance

The elderly require accessible assistance for them to stay independent in their own home. Motorized walkers can be used to assist the elderly in getting around in that aid should always be expedient by nature. The issue is to realize that old doesn't necessarily mean that you have to be entirely dependent on someone. Which is the issue when it comes to designing a care criterior that appeals to the growing population of elderly persons. It has now become crucial to establish measures of care without wasting money on things that may not be of assistance to the elderly by adequate means.

What if a solution could be achieved even with the elderly remaining in their own homes and without the cost of twenty-four hour care in home? A reasonable answer to this can be the implementation of home aided-assisted living care. This would operate in the following way: The elderly would sign up for assisted home care as though they are actually residing in a assisted living facility. The extension of this assisted living facility is that they function with regard to home care as though you actually live in assisted living housing by employing staff to come the home of an elderly person to assist when necessary.

The assisted living facility, would supervise all visits that require the help of an aid to the elderly persons home for all types of help ie. cleaning, shopping, transportation, bathing, cooking, dressing ect. The elderly person or couple would have a monitor installed in their home so that the assisted living facility can stay in contact with the elderly person while at home. The elderly person can contact the assisted living facility in cases of emergency need or to tell them that they are ok.

Each assisted living facility in annex would be staffed in ratio to the number of elderly patients it visits in off-site home areas.Since the elder person is enrolled in the assisted living facility they would be part of the facility and eligible to participate in recreation, programs, outings and other activities as such.  All amenities are provided as though the elderly reside on site whenever they visit the assisted living facility for activities.

This type of living arrangement can also serve as a transition approach for those elderly persons who are still mentally and physically able to maintain some sense of independence. It would also save money on actual cost for those who will require assisted living care and ultimately accommodating elder needs with lesser cost.
