Laser accupuncture or therapy is used by placing a 635nm red laser light to a point on the body for stimulation for several miuntes at a time. However, this therapy is limited to a one at a time approach to stimulaton when using the laser light. In doing so this does not replace traditional accupuncture entirely, because traditional accupuncture places several needles into trigger points on the body and thus the entire body can be treated simultaneously. The traditional approach may achieve a more desired outcome because of the actual needle placement and the length of time one has the needles placed in them as opposed to the laser because the accupuncture practitioner is holding the instrument. In order to stimulate many areas of the body within a certain amount of time he or she must move the laser instrument around to various trigger spots on the body for less time, therefore sacrificing the actual amount of time it would require to stimulate a trigger point on the body properly.
This does not negate the fact that laser technology is no longer useful and not suitable as an alternative to actual needle accupuncture, especially for those who cannot tolerate needles. This just means that laser technology, in order to be truly useful as that of traditional, has to be able to stimulate and treat broader areas of the body or several different areas in one setting.
This can be done with the use of such laser apparatus:
The laser body mat which is a mat ergonomically designed and shaped in contour with the human body can be used in laser therapy for those with back or spine problems along with neck and head apparatus to stimulate points in those areas.
For the arms, legs and torso there should be a laser pressure cuff with a wrap that can be used on the areas for a certain length of time and once removed the body can be massaged for furthur stimulation. A laser textured glove can also be used for those who need therapy for fingers and toes.
Laser accupuncture is the best in alternative therapy as oppsed to traditional for of accupuncture therapy, but it needs to encompass a wider area of therapy during sessions for maximum results.
