Insurance companies don't reimburse as much as they did before. With so many illnesses and the toll it takes for an insurance company to pay for as it is just as difficult for people to keep up with the rising costs of insurance premiums to be able to afford all that is necessary in a health insurance plan. Once this society becomes inundated with again a new  disease or the re-emergence of a disease thought to be eradicated, insurance companies have to find the money to pay for treatment and patients have to be able to afford insurance to cover them.

With disease you have pre-existing conditions where there is no cure, but of course treatment that will prolong life and assist with disease management.  On the reverse side of the coin you have vaccines available that are able to prevent a person from suffering certain types of ailments. The potato that the insurance companies and government continue to evade is that yes, they must treat those already diagnosed and suffering from disease; but they also refuse to recognize the need in payment for more medications in prevention or "pre-cure" for those whereby a vaccine is available so that one can be vaccinated which will eventually make one immune to a harmful disease. Both insurance company and government cease to find such a medium that would recognize the importance of "pre-cure" that will then lead itself to lower numbers of people seeking treatment or using insurance for a disease, after the fact.  Keeping in mind long term treatment and care of an illness or disease will cost more than $300 over time.
