By now many people have experienced power outages that prevent them from cooking and cleaning.  For some this is a good thing because no chores mean that you can relax for a while.  Disposable utensils definately cut down on your hired help costs, but what good are they if you don't have any food prepared so you can use them?  Power generators are the thing these days, because they can prevent your food from spoiling. Free dry ice may have been hard to come by because it was probably used to chill Martini's at the local bars. So by the time you showed up for some just to continue to keep that chopped meat and chicken with freezer burn they were all out.  A good generator can cost you as much as a car down payment and if you're going to need a new car fairly soon you may have to decide between eating canned fruit and bread for several days or buying that motorized scooter. Because, the bus system don't wanna be responsible for what happens to you because they dropped you off at your bus stop or so they thought they did and you thought so as well and except for a few speeding cars with lights navigating became somewhat difficult.  Once you arrived home the challenge as to what you should eat became of question.  If you are a faster then you were in a good place because you have already made your decision.  If you enjoy stuffing yourself to obilivion and you live in an apartment you will have upset your stomach in food options. In a house you can always work the grill provided you feel comfortable using the light from the fire to help you get around.  Or you can always dine out, provided you find a place that is not shut down because of the weather and one your budget can really afford. The dollar blackout special would be nice.  What is really needed are cooking appliances to assist us with times when we have no power and need to cook meals and preserve food indoors for several days.

IDEA:

Battery operated microwave ovens and cooler appliances.  These portable yet sturdy cooking appliances are designed to cook, heat, broil or grill most any types of food.  The microwave oven and cooler works like most traditional microwave ovens or coolers with the exception that they are battery operated and as such a battery indication meter exists on both the microwave oven and the cooler so that it let's know if you have enough battery power to cook your meals and cool your uncooked foods until power is restored into your home or apartment.  You just fill the battery unit with four to six D size batteries(this depends on the size  of oven or cooler you buy).  Once this is done you can put perishable items in the cooling unit which will enable your foods to stay cool for a day or two before you have to change the batteries.  When you need to take your foods out to be used in the microwave all that is needed is to prepare them the way you usually do: rancid, plain or spicy. While using containers that are microwave safe, you turn the microwave oven on and select your settings, timer ect. and press start. When your food is done you turn the microwave off, the microwave oven has a power save mode that saves battery power if the microwave is left on but not being used. You can now enjoy a meal without using too much of an old flame.  I'm speaking of course about money, reuniting never tasted so good!
