Mammograms, breast ultrasounds, breast specific gamma imaging along with CT scan's, MRI's and biopsies are all performed for the sake of obtaining an accurate image with regards to breast abnormalities and malignancy.  When will physicians create a method inclusive to some extend for breast examinations that would include a test with all sophistication in result and would only need to be performed every 18 months?

If a camera were able to view the breast through a needle combined with collection needle and could be ultimately be situated into the breast, ie. specific site surrounding the nipple, the camera in 360 view would be able to examine the breast and tissue and could focus or areas of suspicion immediately.  Such a machine would be able to create actual pictures and images of breast tissue and of any biopsy obtained. In rotating the needle to view the breast in keeping with single inserting of the needle into each breast only once adjustments can be made to see from all angles and obtain pictures for future comparison.

The genuine objective with this measure is that the camera and gamma imaging would be able to obtain breast samples from the duct and other areas by simply extracting the collection needle within the outer needle and inserting a new collection needle in place. This eliminates sticking the patient more than once because the outer needle is what gets inserted into the patient and the inner needle opens out to extract samples.

As an all in one procedure biopsies can be done during the examination itself, thus creating a faster turnaround time for results. This would shorten the time between visits to remove the entire mass, lump or tumor present which is crucial factor for those with malignancy.

A procedure of this kind could also alleviate anxiety over  visit and wait. The actual image breast and gamma procedure scan is a complete exam. In performing exams of this type and through approach they may not be required as often as other breast imaging techniques, which benefits the patient by saving time and providing accurate results.
